Regional Co-ordination Forum

The Regional Co-ordination Forum (RCF) was formed in January 2003 in response to the Government’s White Paper “Your Region Your Choice”, bringing together key Government bodies and other public agencies in the East Midlands.

The purpose of the Forum is:

  • To make the delivery of programmes and policies within the East Midlands more integrated, efficient and ultimately deliver better outcomes for the people of the region.
  • To gain a better understanding of Government policies, their intention and impact in the region.
  • To co-ordinate government policies and programmes in the region to provide added value and maximise effectiveness.
  • To support the strengthening of the regional dimension of national policy development.
  • To provide a co-ordination point for government input to the East Midlands Regional Assembly’s deliberations and a two-way channel to examine how Government Departments can best respond to the region’s agenda as defined by the Regional Assembly’s Integrated Regional Strategy.
  • To instigate innovative working methodologies for delivery of the objectives.
