The purpose of the Forum is:
- To make the delivery of programmes and policies within the East Midlands more integrated, efficient and ultimately deliver better outcomes for the people of the region.
- To gain a better understanding of Government policies, their intention and impact in the region.
- To co-ordinate government policies and programmes in the region to provide added value and maximise effectiveness.
- To support the strengthening of the regional dimension of national policy development.
- To provide a co-ordination point for government input to the East Midlands Regional Assembly’s deliberations and a two-way channel to examine how Government Departments can best respond to the region’s agenda as defined by the Regional Assembly’s Integrated Regional Strategy.
- To instigate innovative working methodologies for delivery of the objectives.
