Published: Wed, 14 Nov 2007 14:25:37

More than 50,000 subscribers for info4local – are you one of them?

www.info4local.gov.uk, the government web portal that gets information from central to local government, is visiting GOEM with a stand on Tuesday 20 November from 2pm.

www.info4local.gov.uk is a one-stop website and email alert service for people in local government and the voluntary and community sector. It provides a quick and easy way to get all the information you need from across central government. Visit the info4local stand in the Ante Room to find out how info4local can help you:

  • stay abreast of all the latest information from departments and agencies
  • get all the latest information from the GOEM website and from other regions
  • save hours of searching by having information delivered to your desktop
  • find information on the subjects you are interested in
  • get breaking news.

Managed by Communities and Local Government (CLG) in partnership with six other government departments, info4local now adds information from more than 70 departments, agencies and public bodies everday. Its daily email alert service has more than 53,000 subscribers, most of whom work in local authorities, the voluntary sector or central government.

info4local covers the latest government news, consultations and their deadlines, policy documents, guidance, circulars, newsletters, events, research, related links and more. Information is categorised by subject and government office region, with special pages for all the regions, including the East Midlands.

Use the info4local website, which is updated throughout the day, and register for the free email alert service to get the latest information and news sent to your inbox. You can tailor your profile according to subject, region, information type, department and frequency.

Subjects include economic development; economics and finance; education and skills; emergencies; environment; health, well-being and care; housing; information and communication; planning, land and premises; regional policy; performance management; transport and more.

For more information, visit the info4local stand on Tuesday to talk with info4local representatives.

If you can’t wait until then, log on to the info4local website at the link below. If you would like to visit the stand, please contact Paul Abbott, the GOEM Web Content Manager at enquiries@goem.gsi.gov.uk
