East Midlands Development Agency Board Appointments

Government Office for the East Midlands (GOEM) administer appointments to the board of East Midlands Development Agency (emda), in line with guidance from the Department for Trade and Industry (DTI).

In 2007 emda are looking for two new members for their board- one Business appointment and one Voluntary and Community appointment. Applications can be downloaded here or by calling 08700 435 060 quoting reference RDA001. The closing date is Friday 29 June 2007, 4pm.

Membership of the Board

The agency is headed by a Chair and a board of 14 people, who collectively have substantial experience of working in business, education, trades unions, the voluntary and community sector and serving Local Councillors.

All board members have a drive to change the East Midlands region and are chosen for their ability to contribute.

They have detailed knowledge of the region, together with a good operational network of regional and / or sub-regional contacts. They ensure that emda fulfils its aims and objectives to drive regional economic development.

Board members, including the Chair, are appointed by DTI Ministers, following open competition. All appointments are made on merit, in line with the code of practice issued by the Commissioner for Public Appointments (OCPA).
