An extra £9.6 million to help rough sleepers make a permanent move away from the streets was announced today by Housing Minister Caroline Flint. Nottingham will benefit with £535,000 for a training and employment centre built between a young person's and an older homeless person's hostel, catering for both, at Bentinck Road. The provider, Framework, is excellent and has match funding from the Housing Corporation and its own resources for the whole development. Nottingham has not previously benefited from either the Hostels Capital Improvement Programme or the Places of Change Programme.
