A comedy show which was premiered at Leicester Comedy Festival 2009 has helped a major UK theatre win the Theatrical Management Association's Eclipse award at a ceremony in London. “Pieces”, a comedy show which showcases emerging black talent, was given a special mention when Nottingham Playhouse won the award for their outstanding contribution to cultural diversity. The performance, which was first performed in Leicester in February 2009, was created by the Black Regional Initiative in Theatre (BRIT). The performance featured as part of Leicester Comedy Festival’s Make Me Happy programme, supported by John Lewis.
