In the East Midlands, the Objective 2 Programme supports:
-
parts of Derby, Nottingham and Leicester
-
areas of Lincolnshire
-
parts of the Peak District (including Staffordshire)
-
former coalfield communities in North Derbyshire and North Nottinghamshire
The Objective 2 Programme area is defined by local authority boundaries, and is divided into main and transitional areas.
Transitional areas are those which were eligible for Objective 2 or Objective 5b funding between 1994 and 1999 but which are no longer eligible under Objective 2 in the period 2000-2006. This is described as being in transition to Objective 3.
Check Eligibility with the Postcode Database
You can check the eligibility of a location by using our postcode database through the internet link below. The database checks the geographical position of the postcode and compares it to the electoral ward boundaries as they existed in 1991. It will display the ward name in which the current postcode was located in 1991.
