One of our key tasks in this area is to assist DCMS in the sponsorship of Culture East Midlands (the Regional Cultural Consortium) including monitoring, promoting and managing the implementation of the Regional Cultural Strategy.
We are developing and delivering government policies that enable a vibrant, healthy and prosperous region.
Government Office key responsibilities:
- effective advice and information on DCMS policy within the region and close liaison with the DCMS-funded regional agencies and partners including public, private and voluntary sectors.
- working with regional partners to enhance access to culture and sport to increase and broaden its impact.
- the culture, creativity and enterprise agendas to take a more practical and effective role in helping with the delivery of the wider government cross-cutting agenda of regeneration, education and social cohesion through the Government Office.
- helping the tourism sector to play its full part in the economic development of the region, by working with the emda and other key regional partners.
- promoting a culture into relevant regional and local strategies such as the Regional Economic Strategy, Regional Spatial Strategy, and Community Strategies.
