National Armed Forces Day 2009

The Ministry of Defence recently announced that the first British Armed Forces Day will take place on Saturday 27th June 2009. This will be an opportunity for the whole nation to show its appreciation for the contribution made by all those who serve or have served in Her Majesty's Armed Forces.

One of the official activities of Armed Forces Day is the raising of a unique flag with all the Boroughs, Districts, Cities and County Council Areas in the UK, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man. This will take place at 10:30am on Monday 22nd June 2009.
 
All areas within the East of England are encouraged to take part.
