An exciting opportunity to contribute to growing your region’s prosperity

RDA Non Executive Board Members: East of England, and East Midlands

We are currently recruiting for two Regional Development Agency business positions, one on the Board for the East of England and the other on the Board for East Midlands.

If you have a sound, high level business background and are committed to, and enthusiastic about, the economic development and regeneration of your region, this could be the opportunity for you.  The economic downturn is presenting a real challenge to regional businesses so a key priority for the RDAs is to ensure a range of support is in place to help companies through this exceptional economic period.

You will be part of a team of 15 Board members, who will each have a strong track record of achievement in their sectors.  The RDAs are business led organisations and in partnership with a range of stakeholders help translate Government policy into regional action.

These positions require strategic thinkers with strong communication, representational and influencing skills, plus the capacity to provide critical challenge in order to help ensure the RDA delivers economic impact and value for money.  If you can see yourself contributing to growing your region's prosperity we would like to hear from you.

The time commitment would be a minimum of two days a month for an initial period of three years, with a remuneration of £8,538 per annum.

To request an application pack please e-mail:rdabmvacancies@berr.gsi.gov.uk or telephone 01142794465 / 01142794412

Closing date: 11 February 2009

BERR is committed to providing equal opportunities for all, irrespective of race, age, disability, gender, marital status, religion, sexual orientation, transgender and working patterns, and to the principle of public appointments on merit with independent assessments, openness and transparency of process.
