In moving towards this, we will demonstrate leadership and work in partnership to deliver these key outcomes:
New homes and growth, balanced with wider social and environmental considerations
Housing supply, and its condition, meets people’s needs
Key transport challenges progressed
The most deprived communities are actively engaged in regenerating their areas, and are seeing improvements
Rural communities have access to better opportunities
Local authorities improve performance, and local strategic partnerships flourish
European funding delivers results in synergy with other funding sources
Adult skills and ambitions are raised in “low-skills equilibrium” parts of the region
In delivering these outcomes we will prioritise our efforts around four key themes:
- Influencing Whitehall
- Regional Co-ordination
- Supporting and challenging other organisations
- Changing places
This strategic framework for our activities has been structured to ensure that we remain focussed on achieving our overall priority: making the East of England a better place in which to live and work. We are confident that by working with our partners and our sponsor Departments we will make a valuable contribution to achieving this goal.
