Government Offices work with local authorities and other partners to develop better services for children and young people.
We are working with Local Authorities to ensure that early years' services are appropriately reflected within local strategic priorities in Children and Young People’s Plans and, where appropriate, within Local Area Agreements.
On delivery of Children’s Centres and extended services, we work closely with both "Together for Children" and the "TDA" and operate a differentiated approach – specifically targeting those Local Authorities most in need of support, either because local targets are particularly stretching or because of other factors which present a particular barrier to delivery.
We are engaged with Children’s Fund partnerships across the region, working to secure flexible and responsive local services for children and young people aged 5-13 years who are at risk of social exclusion.
The team also contributes to Go East's "Safeguarding" activity, and in particular works to improve outcomes for LACs (children in care).
