Fact Files
Introduction
The Regional Co-ordination Unit (RCU) and the Government Offices (GOs) work with the Office for National Statistics (ONS) to produce a series of unique briefing documents for the Strategic Communications Unit at Number 10. These “Fact Files" provide Ministers with key statistics, which summarise Government delivery at the local level including 'soft' intelligence on local projects and initiatives in England's principal towns and cities.
New Fact Files launched
The GO Network re-launched the Fact Files in November 2007.
The refresh means that they now contain maps, satellite images and council information, in addition to local and national statistical information from ONS and local intelligence on children and learners, health and well being, crime, transport, social inclusion and regeneration and European funding provided by each GO.
We currently have available 38 City Fact Files and nine Regional Fact Files. Each contains key information for the place, including ONS statistics, council compositon and council tax bands * and information from the GOs.
