The Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) leads for the Government on a wide range of sectors: the arts, architecture and the historic environment, sport and recreation, museums, libraries and archives, film and broadcasting, the creative industries, tourism and licensing, the National Lottery and gambling.
Government Office for the North West promotes DCMS policy in the region and ensures that North West views inform national policy.
We work with and encourage close collaboration between the regional cultural agencies, local authorities and other organisations to ensure that the cultural sector makes a full contribution to delivering major projects and regional strategies and targets.
